Welcome Justin Holmer, Design Engineer
Justin Holmer joined ISE on December 8th as a Design Engineer, bringing approximately 2.5 years of structural drafting and design experience to the team.
Justin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego in 2021 and has worked primarily on single-family residential and retaining wall projects, with some commercial experience mixed in. Since joining ISE, he’s been introduced to modular design—a new and exciting challenge that he’s eager to continue developing.
Justin is currently planning to take the EIT exam this spring and is focused on growing his experience across a wider range of project types. When asked what drew him to engineering, he credits a lifelong curiosity about how things work (and perhaps a few too many Discovery Channel mega-project shows growing up).
Outside of work, Justin’s desk soundtrack leans toward alternative rock and metal, he’s firmly Team Dark Mode in AutoCAD, avoids In-N-Out lines on principle, and has declared Thursday as his favorite weekday—possibly because of rain, possibly because of Thor. The jury is still out.
We’re glad to have Justin on board and look forward to supporting his continued growth at ISE.
Welcome Cong Tran, PE, Project Engineer
Joining ISE on December 15, Cong Tran, PE brings over 20 years of structural engineering experience to the team as a Project Engineer.
Cong holds a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego and is a licensed Professional Engineer, with plans underway toward his SE. His background spans all building types, with a strong focus on commercial projects, giving ISE clients the benefit of deep technical expertise and seasoned judgment.
When asked what motivates him as an engineer, Cong’s answer was refreshingly simple: he enjoys building things. At ISE, he’s excited to continue applying that mindset while contributing to complex projects and mentoring teams.
And for the record—Cong’s favorite weekday is Friday. Some truths are universal.
