The Gabilan St Seismic Retrofit project is a retrofit of the existing 14,000 square foot single-story Retail Building from the 1940s. The Seismic Retrofit and code update includes concrete roof, walls, and floors with FRP, steel framing, add reinforcing and concrete, strengthening the existing foundation with added helical/push piers or increase in footing size, and finally to reinforce roof with additional steel supports due to damaged existing concrete beams. In addition, upgrade to allow for new HVAC (4) units, partition wall framing/bracing, wood studs walls, and wood ceiling platform acoustic ceiling system. ISE Structural Engineers provided structural engineering services for the project. The project was with Peartree + Belli Architects and completed in 2023.
