Description:

The newest addition to the MLK Jr. Medical Campus in Southern Los Angeles, the Child and Family Wellbeing Center aims to address the multitude of challenges faced by those engaged in the child welfare system, with a particular focus on the prevention and mitigation of trauma. The facility dedicated to the care of children who have experienced abuse or are in the foster system, as well as an autism clinic, child psychiatry services and the Family Justice Center. The Wellbeing Center is a 55,000 square foot three-story steel modular building over a slab on grade foundation. ISE Structural Engineers provided structural engineering services for the project. The healthcare building was designed with architect Cannon Design, built by factory Silver Creek Industries and on-site construction by CannonBuild, and completed in 2021.
